| I'm afraid the story of the Panther's since the turn of the year has been one hard luck story after another. At the beginning of the season it was clear we were behind the other teams in the league but in 2010 we have matched teams and even outplayed some and this game was no exception. An even 1st half saw the game deadlocked at 0 0 with the Panther's and Keighley pretty evenly matched with neither side having a decent sight of goal. After the restart I was honestly alerted by a parent of a Keighley player that they were playing with an extra man only to see at that moment Keighley go one up. The goal was allowed to stand and their extra player was then brought off, we will never know if it had been 7 v 7 whether that goal would have been scored. A long range effort looked to have been well saved by the Panther's keeper Harvey Kittle only for the Keighley contingent to scream the lad had marginally held it behind the line, the ref bowed to crowd pressure and harshly allowed the goal. All of a sudden we were 2 down and barely deserved it.A crunching tackle from our defender resulted in the ball ricocheting into the bottom corner and it was clear to see all the good fortune was going Keighley's way. The panther's to their credit kept going and deservedly pulled one back after Jack Moody took the ball wide of goal and pulled it back across the keeper into the bottom corner. Keighley just had time to add one more when the by now subdued Panther's failed to clear in the box allowing the ball to be poked home.A good performance in all with the players battling well and creating chances not to mention them getting on the score sheet for the second match running. I hope if these performances continue we will get the break we deserve.Man of the match was awarded to Harvey Kittle for his countless tackles in the 1st half and competent performance in goal for the 2nd half. Well done Panther's |
